Abbas Mahvash graduated from Yale University in 2005 with a degree in economics. He then came back home to Texas and graduated from The University of Texas School of Law in 2008. While in law school, he was Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights and active in his community, serving as an Executive Board member for Street Law. He served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Frances H. Stacy, United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Texas, and for Justice Jane Bland of the 1st Court of Appeals for the State of Texas.
After graduation, Mr. Mahvash became an associate in the International Commercial practice group at the Dallas office of Baker & McKenzie, L.L.P. He assisted in a breadth of cross-border commercial endeavors at various stages—providing advice on business and legal considerations for new ventures, facilitating mergers and acquisitions, and resolving international business disputes.
In 2009, Mr. Mahvash decided to focus his skills exclusively on litigation, and moved to Brownsville to join Rodriguez & Nicolas, L.L.P. Mr. Mahvash focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state court in South Texas.
